Women's Health Annual Visit
The women's health annual visit is a well-established healthcare routine which most women view as an important part of their overall health maintenance. From a provider perspective, the annual visit offers an opportunity to reinforce the patient/provider relationship and support the female patient as an active participant in determining and maximizing her overall health.
Appropriate screening tests and their intervals should be discussed at each annual visit, as a woman’s specific healthcare needs and screening recommendations may change from year to year. Efficient, directive discussions surrounding health promotion and disease prevention and management strategies, including cardiovascular health, reproductive health, and vaccinations are crucial. This series will provide healthcare providers the vital information for these discussions, and the most up-to-date information and strategies for their practice.
