Course Description



The Venous Disease Management course is a comprehensive, one and a half-day course designed for those interested in treating patients with venous insufficiency and covers all aspects of venous reflux disease including basic anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis techniques, treatment options and the use of endovenous ablation technology.  The course includes didactic presentations along with hands-on sessions.

Overall Educational Purpose



This continuing medical education activity is focused on venous disease. When participating in an Omnia Education activity, you can expect active learning processes that include strategies on the application of knowledge into your practice, ancillary tools that supplement the educational process, and opportunities for interaction with faculty. Our goal is to provide you with relevant education that meets identified needs so that results are measurable and sustained therefore resulting in improved patient care. 

You can expect to learn the following:
  • Identify the pathophysiology of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), including venous hypertension, inflammatory mechanisms, and the role of risk factors and lower limb venous anatomy in the development of CVI
  • Utilize appropriate diagnostic approaches to evaluating patients across the CVI clinical spectrum, including the use of duplex Doppler U/S
  • Discuss various treatment and referral options for manifestations of CVI, including varicose veins, edema, hyperpigmentation, and venous ulcers
  • Develop proficiency in endovascular techniques for the treatment of symptomatic CVI, including radiofrequency ablation and foam scleropathy

This course is designed to meet the Continuing Medical Education needs of Cardiologists, General Surgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, and Interventional Cardiologists.

Omnia Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


Credit Designation



Omnia Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 11.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

This activity has been approved for 11 Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) CME credits.
